  • Identification of fire risks
  • Ensuring fire prevention measures are in place

  • Evaluating and recommending staff training (where applicable)
  • Reviewing firefighting equipment
  • Assessing emergency lighting and escape routes

Frequently asked questions

If you're the "responsible person" in a building that falls under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO), you'll need to make sure that a suitable fire risk assessment has been carried out on the building.

The FSO applies to all workplaces and the common parts of buildings containing 2 or more domestic premises.

The "responsible person" could be a landlord, building management professional or a designated fire safety officer in a work place.

It depends on the type of building being assessed.

Generally, the assessment covers:

  • Identification of fire risks
  • Ensuring fire prevention measures are in place
  • Assessing fire detection measures (e.g. fire/smoke alarms)
  • Evaluating and recommending staff training (where applicable)
  • Firefighting equipment
  • Emergency lighting
  • Escape routes

Our professionals can complete a fire risk assessment for any building that falls under the FSO regulations, including:

  • Communal areas in blocks of flats
  • Workplaces (offices, shops)
  • Sleeping accommodation
  • Houses in multiple occupation

The tradesman was very competent and courteous, taking the additional steps of showing me how the oven worked and assisting me to put the old oven outside for collection by the council.

The locksmith arrived within the agreed timeframe and was polite and pleasant. He fitted the key safe in no time at all, but when I asked him to help me programme it , he said he couldn't do that, and left. He did ask if there was anything else I needed, but we only needed help setting up the key safe. We did manage to programme it ourselves in the end, so no harm done, and the Housekeep managers did ring up a couple of hours later to check we were happy with the service, and offered to send someone round to check the setup for us. We would definitely use them again.

The man from Housekeeper was excellent today. He pointed out some discrepancies with the item that I hadn't noticed and made sure to fix it up before it was installed on the wall. Susanne, from Richmond.
